About Coltherd Racing

Coltherd Racing came into being in 1999 - the year Selkirk farmer Stuart Coltherd (pictured) took out a permit to train his own horses. He gained his full trainer's licence in 2004. The operation is based at Clarilawmuir Farm, on the outskirts of Selkirk in the Scottish Borders. It is a dual purpose yard and boasts facilities for 26 race horses, catering for point-to-point, national hunt as well as flat racing. The yard is surrounded by some of the region's most picturesque scenery, with the horses benefiting from a healthy and caring environment.

Stuart's wife Lesley is joint partner in Coltherd Racing, while the couple's son Sam is a professional jockey that has now ridden over 100 winners. Stuart & Lesley's elder daughter, Amy, helps out with stable and riding duties and also does a bit point to pointing, while younger daughter Milly is looking to purse a career in music.

Coltherd Racing's goal is to provide our owners and syndicate members with the best possible racing experience. The unique family atmosphere generated at the Clarilawmuir yard means each horse receives close, individual attention and the best of care, both on and off the track. We work closely with our clients to ensure they get the maximum return and enjoyment from having their horses at our yard.

Coltherd Racing offers a variety of racing packages, ranging from sole horse ownership to racing partnerships and syndicates. Stuart will be happy to discuss costs and give advice on which package would best suit clients' interests. So why not give Stuart a ring now on 07801 398 199.
